A quick reminder

A quick reminder to everyone attending the Art of Change: as we close in on the big day we wanted to send out a quick reminder to ticket holders to help make your journey to the Ball as comfortable and easy as possible on Tuesday.

Ticket and Rideshare forums are active!

In order to help you get ahold of spare tickets and rides out to DC for the event, the Art of Change website has just opened a user forum. Users who complete a registration on the Art of Change will be able to read and post to these forums to find tickets, pin down rides, and find places to stay in DC if your plans are still a little up in the air--the sky's the limit!

The Art of Change is sold out!

That day we all knew would come is here--the Art of Change is sold out! Thanks to everyone whose hard work and enthusiasm have come together to make this such a popular event.

Keep your eyes peeled to the website this weekend for additional information on performers, security concerns, and your handy-dandy guide to what you can see at the Art of Change.

Peace,
Drex

Performer application form is closed!

Thanks to all the wonderfully talented performers who applied to be a part of the Art of Change--our schedule is now full and we will be adding profiles of all of our selected performers in the coming days--check back often!

New visual artists added and volunteer form is closed!

The Art of Change is pleased to announce the addition of 6 more artists to our online preview gallery: Luis Alvarez, Shannon Moore, Pat Goslee, DC Welcome Wagon, and Karen Joan Topping. Please go visit the Art of Change Gallery to view samples of their pieces.

At long last--performer profiles!

I know I've been promising this one since the weekend, but now I finally have all my pieces in working order and I can announce the opening of performer profiles. We'll continue to add performers leading up to the event, but we have an initial nine to show you that should whet your appetite for music and fire. Please check out our newly re-tooled What to See page and our list of performers within it.

There you'll find photos, sample audio and video, and a little bio to get the anticipation really running!

Tickets are running out!

The Art of Change would like to take this moment to thank all the wonderful people who have buoyed this event with their enthusiasm and anticipation. Because of you, we can now announce that we have sold off more than 3/4 of our tickets for the Art of Change!

Videographers needed!

As we count down the final week to the Art of Change, we're looking for a few good videographers to donate some time and energy to documenting this once in a lifetime event. If you or anyone you know has a video camera and might be willing to spend part of the night of the 20th filming this event, please have them email me directly at web@artists-ball.org. You never know...you could see yourself partying it up the night of Inauguration in a video in the not-too-distant future. :)

You want art? We've got art!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our art coordinators, Faith Flanagan and Kristina Bilonick, we can now post our first round of artists whose work will be on display at the Art of Change! These represent some of DC's best and brightest and we'd like to thank each and every one of them for contributing their pieces to make this event a success.

Personal note: I spent hours of my life playing around with Forrest McLuer's piece at Artomatic this year...looks like you'll know where to find me on the night of the 20th ;)
