Security information is live!

Thursday night, many members of our executive committee had a chance to be debriefed by the Secret Service regarding security restrictions in effect around the area the Art of Change will take place in. Most of it was more important to those of us involved in the setup of the event, but here are a few choice details that should help you arrive at the Art of Change with minimal hassle:

New supporting organizations

The Art of Change would like to extend a big thank you to our latest supporting organizations: The Downtown DC Business Improvement District, DC Advocates for the Arts, Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District, and International Arts & Artists. We appreciate all the support and can't wait to see you guys at the ball!

Now taking visual art!

So this morning the planning committee discovered that thanks to the Douglas Development Building we now have three more floors we can use to display artwork--this means that if you haven't had the chance to try and submit your artwork to the Art of Change, now is the time!

To submit your artwork to the Art of Change, we need you to fill out our registration form, including at least one image of your artwork. We do recommend you read our Visual Artist's FAQ before applying, though, so snap to!

A little bit of a facelift and our latest volunteer needs

When we launched we only had so much time to get content on here and there were a lot of things we all wanted to see happen that we just didn't have time to get to--one of those things was a really kicking logo and title banner and fixing the bugs in the layout of the page. Granted, it's not as cool as announcing new DJs but it's making my evening to see it all coming together ;)

Follow the Art of Change on Twitter

Now you can follow the latest news on the Art of Change via our very own Twitter channel--want the latest updates on what DJs we have performing, what art you can look forward to seeing, and what our latest performer needs are? Subscribe to our Twitter channel and you can get all this delivered to your mobile phone or Twitter feed.

Keep checking back--we'll have more announcements tonight!

More DJs announced!

Already we've got more performers to lay on you guys!

Our outdoor White Tent area will feature some of the hottest DJs from Richmond--who would like to spend the night dancing ot the music of the Party Liberation Front? We have now added Dale, Kebunny and Tubbo, Ross, and Conway from the PLF to our outdoor tent. Lest you think this will all be chilly fun in the Washington winter, we're bringing in a special heated tent with a glass wall so you can enjoy watching the fire spinners dance outside while you dance comfortably inside with the crew from VA.

And we're live!

w00t! The site just went live! Now you can find out where the Art of Change will be, what time, and who will be performing at it, plus what you can do to participate in it.

Go look!!! GO NOW!!!!

Peace,
Drex

Our general announcement...

Is coming! Swear to god! No, really this time! Keep your fingers crossed that all our tests of the site backend go well--if they do we're officially launching with full details at 12 PM EST today!

I'm excited, how about you? :)

Peace,
Drex

Performing at AOC

Greetings from behind the curtain at the Art of Change!

We have been booking DJ's and performers for sometime now as we iron out the many behind the scene's details associated with planning an event of this magnitude in such a short period of time and on such a momentous day.

Please pardon the mess...

So as I'm sure many of you have discovered, there isn't a lot of content on our site just yet. Well, I guess I should rephrase: there isn't much visible content on our site just yet. The Art of Change Executive Committee is working round the clock to put together a full announcement for our event, including requests for performers, artists, and volunteers to help make this event a success.
